Telkom University (Tel-U)

Telkom University (abbreviated as Tel-U) – is a merger of several institutions under the organizing body of the Telkom Education Foundation (YPT) namely IT Telkom, IM Telkom, Telkom Polytechnic and STISI Telkom.
Telkom University (abbreviated as Tel-U) – is a merger of several institutions under the organizing body of the Telkom Education Foundation (YPT) namely IT Telkom, IM Telkom, Telkom Polytechnic and STISI Telkom. Tel-U specialized its study program in the field of “Information and Communications Technologies, Management and Creative Industries” in response to the demands of the rapid development of the ICT industry.

The average growth of the telecommunications business sector in Indonesia has increased by 20% annually. This growth includes cellular, fixed telephone, internet and broadband access services. With such a large amount of growth, it is estimated that the need for Infocom staff in 2010 in Indonesia is as many as 320,000 people.

Currently the provider of infocomm graduates comes from state and private tertiary institutions, including Tel-U. But the number of graduates from tertiary institutions that have study programs related to the field of information and communication, only about 20,000 people per year.

Tel-U has planned that in 2017 it will become an international class university that excels in the field of Communication and Information and becomes an agent of change in forming intelligent and competitive people.

 

Vision

Telkom University’s vision is to become a world-class tertiary institution that plays an active role in the development of information technology-based science and arts.

Mission

1. Organizing and developing international standard education;
2. Developing and disseminating internationally recognized science, technology, management and arts;
3. Utilizing science, technology, management, and art, for the welfare and progress of the nation’s civilization.

Aim

1. The achievement of trust from all stakeholders;
2. Producing graduates who have national and international integrity, competence and competitiveness;
3. Creating a research culture, cross-cultural academic atmosphere, and an entrepreneurial spirit among academicians;
4. Producing research works and innovative products that are useful in improving the quality of life of the community and supporting national economic development.
