Telkom University Included in the Highest Cluster for Research Performance in Kemenristek Version
JAKARTA, Telkom University – As the best private tertiary institution in Indonesia, Telkom University again ranks best from the Ministry of Research and Technology / National Research and Innovation Agency (Research and Technology / BRIN), where Telkom University has entered the Independent (Highest) Cluster for Research Performance Kemenristek.
Minister of Research and Technology / Head of BRIN – Prof. Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro conveyed Based on the analysis of the verified data, there were 47 tertiary institutions included in the independent groups, 146 main groups, 479 intermediate groups and 1,305 target groups.
“Currently there are 21 tertiary institutions that have succeeded in improving the quality of their research so that they can move from the main clusters to independent clusters in the 2016-2018 assessment period, one of which is Telkom University, where the assessment of higher education research performance for the 2016-2018 period is based on the data has been collected by each university in the Management Information System for Research and Community Service (Simlitabmas). “Said Prof. Bambang through a press release at BPPT II Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, (11/19).
Prof. Bambang explained that the evaluation of university research performance has an impact on the research budget quota, decentralization fund management in accordance with the research master plan of each tertiary institution, map of the need for capacity building programs per cluster, and research management mechanism.
“The components evaluated included research resources (30%), research management (15%), output / output (50%), and revenue generating (5%),” said Bambang.
Telkom University Chancellor Prof. Adiwijaya said that this achievement was the result of the hard work of all the academics of Telkom University so that Telkom University could continue to improve its quality.
“Furthermore, we will maintain the mandate of the Ministry of Research and Technology by managing research as well as possible so that it can produce innovations that are beneficial to society and can improve the competitiveness of the nation. Certainly, this will be a positive contribution to Indonesia’s economic growth, “he said.
Prof. Adiwijaya added earlier from the field of community service as well as Telkom University based on the ranking given by the Ministry of Research and Technology that Telkom University succeeded in occupying a very good predicate on the ranking of universities based on community service performance for the 2016-2018 period which began in 2019.
“This is our proof as the best tertiary institution to always provide the best for the surrounding community, and we continue to educate the community to create superior human resources for Indonesia.” He explained.
