Free online mind mapping editor for individuals and business

WiseMapping is a free web based mind map project. The goal of this project is to provide a high quality product that can be deployed by enterprises, educational and academic institutions. WiseMapping is based on the same code product supporting http://www.wisemapping.com.

Why Open Source ?

In the past years, we have received hundreds of emails, with people asking for integrating wisemapping.com with their sites, requesting to deploy a private instance of wisemapping.com, and wanting to participate in the development of the site. Receiving these requests, we asked ourselves the question: “Why don’t we open up our product to all these people, and share it freely?” For us, this project is like a journey, and we made the decision to make our journey available to anyone who wants to participate. For us, that is what wisemapping.org is all about.

WiseMapping is available for free in http://www.wisemapping.com, no restriction of any kind. Congrats!, you should have WiseMapping really to be use. A couple of additional comments you have to keep in mind:

  • This default installation comes with embedded HQSQL file based database. For production environments, we strongly encourage you to use MySql. Take a look at this page for more information.
  • There are a couple of additional defaults you might be interested in reviewing (email servers, etc).  Review the file WEB-INF/app.properties and adjust it based on your requirements.

Finally, for advance installation questions or problems you visit he group https://groups.google.com/d/forum/wisemapping-support.

Additional Steps

Email

Also in the file app.properties , Part Plain SMTP Server Configuration with SMTP settings for an address to you that works. This is necessary so that registered users can receive email confirmation notifications when a card is shared or a new password when they have forgotten.

Silent process

When you run the script start.sh , the server runs as you do not leave the terminal. To avoid having to maintain a permanently open terminal, it executes the command followed by & .Information

Each time you make a change to the file app.properties , you will kill the java process underway and start the script start.sh .

When the machine crashes and needs to restart, it may be useful to revive Wisemapping start. To do this, create a file/etc/init.d/wisemapping contains this line:
